my 66 coronet, and my 68 super bee, are both left handed lug nuts on the drivers side. for my coronet i thought i could press the lefties out and put right in, on that car NO, i cracked the center hub and bent the crap out of the drum, so i scavenged another passernger one (right handed) and put it on. and i works good so far.

Chrysler stopped using the right hand threads on wheel studs in 1970.

70 will be lefty.

If doing a resto, Do yourself a favour and make them rights. Less broken stuff at the tire store.

I've never seen a show judge pull a wheel cover, and look at the end of a stud.
And If you are worried abput that, get a letter punch set, and put L's on your rights, and you have the look you need

the studs on those cars are swedged (i think thats the word).if you hit them with a grinder in that area it makes them easier to get out.

As far as changing studs, I have found that the rear studs can be knocked out, or pressed no problem. If the front drums are 11 inch ( several/all I have worked with)the studs could easily be knocked/ pressed in and out using normal back up around the stud location. The 10 inch drums all needed the swedge cut out/ ground out to be able to remove the studs without destroying the hub.
