Can I turn up the timing on my tbi 1990 318 for a lil extra juice and mpg? I know on the magnums u set the rotor in place and the computer does the rest..Or will it be all wrong? Thanks moparts techs

You can advance the base timing on it to slightly improve mpg and performance, but it will throw the emissions off a bit.

I live in eastern IA and it doesnt have to be sniff tested.. I have already removed the cat...airpump..and blocked the egr..Found that the egr was sticking...i removed it and plated it. That was a major improvement in power and mpg, jus was wondering if I coul d bump up the timing a little like the old carbed engines, I know you will mess up all sorts of issues in a magnum doin this.

Yes you can set base timing on it as that would be a throttle body injection not multi-port. You have to unhook the coolant sensor to put it in open loop and then adjust the dist to set the base timing like on any eng. Ron
