When I crank my truck up today it rev up kinda high like I petted the throttle.. could the iac be going bad?

well it official I have the dreaded intake gasket leak! I sprayed down the throttle body today rub my finger inside the opening and finger came out black! 
I sure don't want to pull the intake off but I guess I don't have much of a choice....any instruction I might need to do the job.. 99 ram 5.2

would the intake leaking lower my fuel mileage?
