Electric Window Kits for Mopars

Electric Window Kits for Mopars - 02/13/12 01:16 AM

Hello All,

It's been a while, but I am back and have a question. I still have my 1968 Plymouth Fury III and want to install a decent electric window kit. Bolt on engineered for the Fury. I have found some for B body applications, but wondering if the C body has the same window configuration as the B body?

Thanks,
SBM

Hello, thought I would bring this back to the top again. Anyone know?

Search the salvage yards and websites. That would be the best way to find one engineered for a 68 Fury. I'll keep my eyes open in my travels and let you know if I run across anything.

does electric life make a kit for them? or it may be possible to modify 1 of their kits for your use. that is what a body users must do as they only produce kits for certain yr a bodies.

I know it's not what you're looking for, but I've installed 3 of these type universal power window conversion kits and they just worked so well. Easy to install, weigh almost nothing and I found in winter when my windows were frozen, they were able to put more torq on the window than I could with the hand crank before the conversion. The only, and I mean only downside to them I've found is because they actuate your stock manual window regulators is you have to put one of their supplied caps over the hole in your door panel where the window crank handle was. Not a big deal for me.

Daytonaturbo, do you have a link for those window kits? Any pics of one installed?

That is a neat kit, but here is the link for a Mopar kit. The A1 electric is what I am looking at. My question would be what door that the kit is avaliable for matches a Fury? They make most Mopar kits, but the Fury is lacking.Hope it's alright to post a webpage?

This looks like it, but I'm not sure

Here's a pic from the listing, looks identical

Yup that's the same type of kit. $90, not bad for 4 power window motors, switches and a free power lock kit. The brands I installed a couple years ago were different, but the same basic idea.

Didn't take any installed pics, but they were super easy to do. Basically the splined part slips over the area where your window cranks bolt on. They come with an assortment of adapters to mate up with any window crank, and come with an assortment of caps of different sizes to hide the hole after. The kits come with little brackets to allow you to screw the power window motors to your door panels, so you just have to drill a couple small holes. After the door panel is on, you would never know. What I've heard some guys do is shim the manual window regulator to push it in far enough so that you can use a power window type door panel, thereby not needing the plastic caps. Not sure how well that would work but it's an idea. Also you don't have to use their switches, I used factory switches when I did the install.

On my charger, I see no issue with a cap over window crank...there's already a cap for non remote mirros...which I kept after putting in a remote mirror...

How about this idea on the factory regulators?Swap them side to side along with the channel that mounts to the window. Might not clear the window or ?? I may experiment with a few things since all the windows are out of my Barracuda.
