rear leaf springs - 02/02/12 01:02 AM

Where is the best place to get rear leaf springs. Looking for stock springs for a 70 cuda convertible. I have the old ones but not sure they are worth rebuilding. Has anybody had any experience with rebuilding or replacing. If so who did you use.

Been good reports on ESPO. 1" more arch than stock. JR spring (JC Whitney) is good if they send you the right ones . You could dissassemble yours w clamps & have a suspension shop add some arch to the main leaf then take the 2 mains home & reassemble possibly adding a leaf or 2 from your stash. Jack up the rear in the center of the bumper till it's where you want it/looks good & measure the difference then give them that dimention. I forget which half of the spring is for height/stiffness/launch etc if you are adding half leafs or just a whole leaf or 2

Mine were shot. I went with ESPO +1", and no complaints.

I had mine re-arched and rebuilt at a local shop, and add an extra leaf, like the HP cars. No problems.

I bought mine for my 65 Barracuda Formula S from ESPO and am well pleased. The car sits as it should and looks great. The customer service was good and they ask the right questions to insure you have the right part. Service was fast and I had the parts in my hands 3 days after I placed the order. Price was very good and maybe a little less than other places I checked.

My kid had the ones for his 62 300 rearched and a leaf added. That was 12 years ago. They are still better than any new spring you can get.I think they charged him like 120 bucks for both.Rocky
