fuel gauge sender repair - 01/30/12 06:10 PM

Ok putting a bigger line in my fuel pickup had to unbraze the old pickup and when I did I got the fuel sender plastic insulator a little hot and melted some. Not much just broke the seal around the metal gas tank insert. The sender isnt grounded and still puts out the correct ohms for the gage, but Im worried about it being sealed if the tank is full, and possibly leaking.

Anyone ever take one apart and reseal and rivet? It spins in the metal tank insert but its not in/out loose.
