Location of VIN# on the body of a 68 Charger - 01/15/12 11:11 PM
I have a VIN# question. Besides the radiator core support does a 68 Charger have the Vin # located anywhere else?
thanks
thanks

Radiator support in '68 should have the Order # stamped on, look on the upper yoke near the battery. Order # is also on fender tag. Might also be #s stamped on left quarter trunk rail like on my '68 RR.

The SO# is on the core support , should be on the face that the rad may partially block, and under the trunk gasket on the drivers side . The VIN is NOT stamped anywhere on a 68 other than the tag on the dash .

Not until 1969 were the VIN's put on the body. The SO# is on the broadcast sheet as well as the fender tag and the used as the body stamps, more of an internal Chrysler thing than anything. Sometime in 68 the VIN numbers were put on the engine and trans, then in 69 they made it to the body. As for as significance, not really sure of what you are asking?![]()

Not to thread jack, but can someone tell me all the places on a 70 Cuda convertible? I know of two on the body. Curious if there's more.
