Just curious how many of you have high mile 6.1 hemis? What type of problems have you had if any? I'm looking at a 6.1 with 100,000. It looks and runs great. But the miles scare me off a bit. Just looking for some opinions. Thanks

This is an interesting question. Its a high performance engine, but was it driven that way? It reminds me of the 440s and Hemi engines that guys pulled and swapped into 318 cars. Nowadays the engines last far longer, especially when well maintained. I have 130,000 on my 2007 Ram with the 5.7 mill. Power seems about the same as new and it uses very little oil. The plugs are always clean.
I guess it comes down to HOW it was treated for the 100 K.

Modern EFI systems help engines last much longer by controlling the fuel mix. You don't have as much fuel washing down the rings on a cold engine.

You'll probably still have cross hatch on the cylinders. They're machined awesomely from the factory. As long as the pistons aren't broken above the ring lands, I'd run it. Nothing really fails on these stock blocks until you get to about 600rwhp.
