Synthetic brake fluid OK? - 12/20/11 04:52 PM

Getting ready to fill my brake system up for the first time and have a question about brake fluid, specifically synthetic fluid. Went to pick up some and all I found was synthetic. Have never used before and feel it would be ok, but was hoping someone could reassure me???
(BTW was going to use dot 3...70 Bee))
Thanks!

What are you actually using. Is it DOT 3, 4 , or 5. Recently it seems that brake fluid manufacturers realized they could label regular DOT 3 fluid as synthetic. So synthetic DOT 3 is actually normal DOT 3. What I would use is DOT 5 because it doesn't eat paint.

+1. ALL brake fluid is synthetic, so any labeling as such is just marketing. I too recommend a switch to DOT 5.

I went w/ DOT 5 for this car and I'm glad I did. The PV (brand new) LEAKED all over the inner-fender if it was old school fluid my paint would have been toast.
