What's a good target for wheel weight for a car that isn't going to be running for money, but I want to keep the unsprung weight down where I can for HPDE, Auto-X, etc... Let's use 18 x 9.5" for the example because it seems popular. I like the ET LT-III wheels but the reference I found gave 35lbs for that size which seems excessive. Seems like the cast wheels are less expensive and heavier and forged tend to be lighter but making your wallet lighter at the same time. I like the performance tire selection in 18" better than 15" or 17". I like to think I'll be able to take advantage of the performance benefit of a lighter wheel, even if it may not be true.
