Hi guys I'm new here, but I've been in love with Mopar since I was 7. Mopar is what got me into automotive repair. My dad and I have always had a dodge in the family, (even if it was just parked next to the house it counts lol). As I was saying I got into automotive industry with mopar, at the age of 7, working on a carb for the truck I now own. My 1977 Power Wagon Warlock. She is not in the best shape but she is far better off than the s10 I just "killed". She is not all original, sorry guys, Has a 360 transplanted into her when originally she came with a 318 (that's the extent of the modifications lol). We bought her from a man who used her for a hunting rig, so naturally he painted camo over the masterpiece dodge created. I'm currently redoing the brake system and then I'm going to be wiring the tail lights back up and getting new tires. My plans for this truck is wash off the [censored] camo (idiot painted over wax didn't prep for paint, literally i can wipe it off with soap and water, and didn't clear so the original paint is under it), replace the bumpers redo the wood in the bed, find original seats. I'd really love to rock the patina for a while until i can afford to get the body work finished and repaint her. pics below.

Damaged front bumper, ugly camo, Dream truck. ^

Centerlines, wrong mirror, and fender rust. ^

stupid reflector over my fave logo and damaged bumper. oh anybody know about the pass through window?^

Has a chevy seat and is missing a door panel as well^

You can call me whatever you like, but just know my truck is my baby, so please keep her out of the insults etc.

Well my goal is to get it back to drivable condition.

My To Do List:
1. brakes (finished repairing them earlier this week.)
2. Taillights need re-wired.
3. need to drop and clean the gas tank. Also need to buy a new fuel sending unit. (Anybody know where i can buy one?)
4. New tires all around.
5. plate it.

You can get a new sending unit through a web site called dodgeconnection.com. They stock new old stock parts for the 72-80 trucks as well as other generations. They have tons of parts you will need. If you have the sending unit part number you can still order it through you local dealer as well.

to do list updated:

1. brakes (finished)
2. Taillights need re-wired. (this has became a bigger project.)
3. need to drop and clean the gas tank. Also need to buy a new fuel sending unit. (got the sending unit and re-fabbed the top piece with the metal lines.)
4. New tires (well i got a used set of 31s thats as good as i can go atm. Even got the spare)
5. plate it (my local court house has a woman who hates me so i now need to make it pass inspection. Lucky for me i have a buddy who is a police officer thats gonna come check it out.)

6. Build heavy duty off-road bumpers until i can find two good originals.)

I'm no expert - were there red Warlocks? I always kind of thought the Warlocks were black, and the Red Express trucks red...

And...after Googling, sure enough, they DID come in red. Green too...

Nice project!

red, black, green, blue, brown, orange, maroon. The only color I haven't seen in person is a blue one. Black and green being the most common.

Sorry everybody, I know its been a while. i have gone through 3 jobs, almost got married, and finally gotten back to my project. Since my last post I became a manager at my LPH, ordered a 20 gal fuel cell, installed a new carb (after rebuilding the original), installed a push button starter and a stealth toggle switch.

What is left on the to-do list:

1.) Wire in my new tail light assemblies
2.) Evict the residents of the wasp nest developing along the bed rail.
3.) installing my fuel cell.
4.) Passing inspection. smile
5.) Redoing the bed floor
6.) Removing horrible Camo.

Whats done:
1.) Brakes
2.) Carb
3.) New ignition system
4.) Replaced steering wheel.

So I found a way to make an aftermarket breather fit the oddball size carb neck.

So the 1 1/4" thick 3' x 3' steel plate with a 5th wheel hitch is removed from the bed tomorrow the old tank gets cut free and the bed floor gets replaced with plywood until I find the strip kit to redo the wooden slats. Fuel cell gets installed tomorrow as well, and then it's on to the tail lights finally. Already insured. Hope to be driving her by next Friday for payday.

dodgeconnection.com has the strips that holds the bedwood down. They have most all of the hardware for the utiline bed as it is basically the same as the LRE. I am hopefully seeing the light at the end of the tunnel (maybe it is not an oncoming Train) on a '79 Warlock II Powerwagon restoration. luck
