Me shorty block hugger headers on my 360 came chromed. That didn't last. Had them "Jet Hot" coated. That didn't last. Had them Ceramic coated in black. That lasted for about 6 months. It is now coming off. I'm out of ideas. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

They say there are no such thing as a stupid question.
They say there is always the exception that proves the rule.
Don't be the exception.

I used this on a set of reproduction Fenton cast iron headers for my 230 flathead and it looked as good the day I sold it as it did the day I painted them. This was about a 6 year period. Used the brush on version in the Cast Iron color.

In fact I used an entire KBS kit to do paint my engine and it held up great. Will use it again the next time I have to paint an engine.

Buy stainless headers and either leave them shiny or sand blast them for a matt finish. (unless you do not want a "silver" color)

Quality ceramic coated headers usually last provided they are never used for a cam break in!

That goes for dyno testing too. You can also void a high temp ceramic warranty by using header wrap -- always read the fine print on the paperwork the job shop gives you.

If the job didn't last I would be more inclined to blame the metal prep (or excessive engine heat / timing) than the product, especially if it keeps happening over and over.

My recently done one year old ceramic coating on my headers started to rust at the welds/seems down on the collectors. I am disappointed. I always thought Ceramic was the way to go.
