Anyone have experience with TTI race headers built for 572-13 heads on an RB, but used on a B block with B1 heads? I will be using an AlterKtion front suspension in a 1969 B body. TTI says the 2 1/8 - 2 1/4 stepped RB headers w/ 4 1/2" merge collectors won't fit, although they sell B-block B1 headers in 2" - 2 1/8" step. I think the motor needs (and Koffel's says) the size to help make 1000 NA HP. TTI says it would be like $3500 for a custom set, which seems lime a lot, vs $1300 for the RB race headers. I like TTI headers and would rather use those than build custom. Thoughts?

Have you installed the front suspension yet? if not, the need for custom headers may not be a problem with an aftermarket suspension. If that's all you can fit, I don't think it will have a problem making 1000 HP with the heads you have with 2" pipes. Perhaps 2" to 2 1/8" with a 4" merge would be an option. You know me, I only have experience with drag stuff but 1000 HP shouldn't be that difficult. You will be up in the 8500 RPM range I would think.

You're numbers are right. I ran Pipemax for my B1 at the same hp level. 2 1/4 into 2 3/8 is what it shows for the best combo. $ 1/2" collector shows to be optimum using my charts for Headers by Ed. I don't think taking the primaries down 1 size will hurt too much. I don't think 2" will work all that well for you. Might be restrictive.

Haven't picked up the front suspension yet, so will have a look when I get it installed. I may take a set of 2" headers to try on the dyno. Thanks
