Hi, I am finally just about ready to bring my 31 plymouth coupe to its first test & tune ever at the drag strip. This is a new build, intended for Drag Week 2018 this September, and it is my first 4 link/coil over car ever. Here are the specs as best as I can figure: weight about 2700 with driver flywheel horse around 675 t-56 magnum manual trans mcleod soft lock clutch 4 link rear with afco double adjustable coil overs and a sway bar straight axle in front with hair pins and afco double adjustable coil overs 30x13.5-15 MT ET streets 9" with 4.20 gears
How should I dial in the corner weights? WIth my small tire leaf spring stuff, I always made the right rear and left front heavy, and the left rear and right front light. I have heard that you don't do that with 4 link, but I'm not sure. Can anyone please point me in the right direction on this? THanks,
Joel

Depend on how stiff the car is.. but I would start with 10#-15# heavy on the RR.. my P-BODY has 10# heavy on the RR at 2400# track weight.. if the car pulls right ADD more weight

Ok, there is no like button but that thing is bad assed cool. Hemi, stick and Drag Week. Doesn't get any better than that. Nice build.
Just because you think it won't make it true. Horsepower is KING. To dispute this is stupid. C. Alston

Mr.P. it's pretty stiff. THe frame is boxed and it has a cage.

If you have a rear anti sway bar you wont need much in the line of adding for the 4-link if its stiff

Set it where JT told you to set it... you can't think of a 4 link like a leaf spring car.

That car is so cool i had to turn off the air conditioner here. Get it on the scales, swaw bar disconnected on one side, get stance/ ride height as desired. As light as the car is, start with the rear neutral. Adjust the swaybar to freely slide the link bolt in and out. You should be able to control any induced steer with the shocks.

I would start neutral and see what it does. I agree, once the pinion angle is set with the upper Driver side bar, install the upper Passenger side bar neutral. Then if you need a touch of preload the the car will tell you by the way it wants to go leaving the line...

Nice to see you finished the car Joel! Google Billy Shops, old Ramcharger engineer, look at his "Traction Dyno". You need 4 scales and a chain and a come-along. Reading that makes me want to get a set of 4 corner scales, although I can't really weight jack a coil spring front end.

Make sure when you install the bars they have no preload and if you have an anti roll make sure it is not loading the bars either. Also make sure you have your weight in the seat and all 4 tires aired up to the where they will be on track and fuel in it. Race ready in otherwords, just tossing that out there as sometimes people forget and even a couple pounds of air can make things change a fair amount.
As for the weight on the scales just install everything neutral and see where you are at. Not a ton of power and your weight and how the car was built will dictate those numbers as much as anything. I might likely run it that way as well unless it was totally out in left field corner weight wise. If the car goes straight then you are golden. If not adjust accordingly depending on what it is doing. Adding preload or taking it away depending on which way it is leaving. In general as power levels go up you will want more weight on the LR corner of the car. A lot of factors and generalizations but hopefully you get the gist of it.
