I have stock hinges with a hood prop. wondering has anyone made or have an idea on how to make it open farter. a lift off hood makes it nice to work on but the hinged hood makes it easy when your by yourself I just wish it would go up farther to get in there easier.

A or E Barracuda?
On my '72 Duster with 'glass hood, stock hinges with springs removed, I can get the hood almost vertical.
B & E hinges are completely different, though.

I don't have a B hinge handy to ponder & play with, but I wonder if one couldn't be modified for more travel.
Another thought is the hot rod & custom guys, but that could be $pendy...

Vaguely recall that some OEM hinges have a bolt traveling in a slot (more than one?) which stops upward hood motion.
Lengthen the slot with a die grinder?

Attach the rear hood pins to the hinges, adjust them down tight. It makes it easy to remove the hood if you need to do more than check the oil but still gives you hinge capability?

I hate the idea of a lift off hood for my street car. But I current;y don't have a hood on the car due to a tunnel ram change and I love the access!

I have a Rampage with a glass hood.. was a pin
on hood but I made up some hinges for it.. was
pretty easy(both arms are the same length)..it
will open almost straight up(have to watch the
rear points of the hood from hitting.. it will
open up plenty enough so I can pull the engine
and trans together or headers

the bottom of the hinges look like a gear that meshes together then the 2 hinges hit each other. I might be able to try and cut the 2 edges that hit to get it to open farther.
