Putting a roll cage in a 63 Dodge 2dr hardtop. I wanted to keep the main hoop hidden by the quarter window trim. Problem is the angle on the quarter window is 13 degrees. I seem to remember seeing a max angle the hoop can be laid back. Looked in the general NHRA rules on line and it says it can be laid back but no mention of max angle. Anyone else remember seeing a max angle?

They told me no max angle however it has to be 6" within your head. Mine is close but you can see it. But depending on the angle of sight you'll se it anyway. It has certified to 8.50 twice now. Both times by the NHRA Division 3 Tech Director.

Not a chassis guy but 20deg is max lay-back angle for 25.5...plenty of margin for you to hide your main hoop! The rear intersecting bars need to be a MINIMUM of 30 degrees.

All of mine get laid back to match the B pillar. Matches the seat back angle better as well.

If the results don't match the theory, change the theory.
