I'm switching to a glide next season and had some questions on low gear set, the car is a 78 Plymouth arrow tube chassis car, weighs 2560 with me in it, small block 365, w9 heads are going on this winter, should be around 650 hp, 4.44 gears with 31.5x12.5W tires, what is a good low gear set for my setup? any help would be appreciated Thanks! Car ran a best of 9.79 at 138 with the edelbrock heads and smaller cam and 904 trans on a break,

I went from a 1.76 powerglide gear to a 1.98 and my 60 foots went from 1.34-1.36 to a 1.25-1.27 sixty foot times. If you need a price let me know and I will hook you up with the guy I bought mine from. (ATI)
Might be able to save you some money.

The difference between a 1.76 and a 1.96 or 1.98 in a combo like that is amazing. Should be a low 9 second deal. If it's a 4 link deal and it's set up right, low 1.20 60s are possible.

If the results don't match the theory, change the theory.
