Well after eight dyno pulls and 30 passes.. I was inspecting the oil pump drive gear and it is completely destroyed. Upon assembly Mock up of the engine everything seemed to be aligned and rotate freely.. however there must be some issue I know there's others that are working on these blocks..the but I was wondering if there was any input. I'm not sure if it's an alignment issue height or lack of oil but something's definitely wrong

Are you seeing a lot of wear, what kind of gear are you running? The intermediate shaft I used has been in my other motor and had some wear on it. I usually drill a .015" hole in the plug that goes in the oil galley to oil the gear. Not an option on this block.
Thanks
Mike

I'm running a brass gear... I knew that it had an aggressive wear pattern and so I have been keeping my eye on it in the three or four times that I've looked at it I've never seen very much lubrication there... I need to figure out how to get oil there but I think it's going to require complete disassembly....

I'll give you a jingle when I get done stuffing my face..... god forbid do you think there is an angle issue between the cam centerline and pump gear? That would definitely require a tear down for sure I'm thinking.... and possibly comparing to a stock block? I can't say for sure..... looking forward to any input on this....

What oil pump you running?

Reason I ask.... Bought a Titan with their longer shaft. The pump bolt holes were not correct to the cap. The pump is borrowed from 392 and they move one mounting bolt hole. Mine was wrong. It messed up the shaft and gear. Titan sent me a new shaft and gear. I replaced the bushing in block and the distributor bearings.

You guys did install the intermediate shaft bushing and ream to size? Is the intermediate shaft still straight. Is the oil pump center in the cap correct to the bushing?

Also.. are you running high oil pressure.. this
adds a lot of wear to the bronze gear
