Hmm, I'd have to think about that for awhile. I'm sure the block can be fixed but for that kind of money you wouldn't expect the lifter bores to be off center. I'd probably check against another cam to be sure but the lifter bore height isn't a big issue.

Sorry to see this, hopefully it can be straightened out.
The blocks appear extremely nice, but sounds like they have some big issues to work out.

Nothing worse then spending good money trying to buy good parts in the name of performance and safety only to have issues with the parts. Sorry to hear you having these problems. its hard enough finding the time and ambition to take on projects like this but we should not have to redesign and fix problems like you are running into. A little grinding here or there and LITTLE issues are expected but the major issues should be addressed before it leaves the factory. Goodluck and I know you will have it running and at the track soon.

thanks guy's. i really wanted opinion's about posting the problems(there were many)on here about this block. haven't heard from kent, so i will probably do it anyhow. if i step on someone's toe's, i don't care. there are other members on here with issues too. if u produce a product & there are problems, man up & make it right. i triple check everything so i should be fine. sorry for the ranting, but it's very fustrating. i will post pics of the final product. thanks for ur time, stay safe, seeya, Rick.

On the lifter bore centers. Is the problem for sure in the block or in the cam core? This can be checked. A little tricky but well worth it when you start bashing as you would not want to have to back down. Pretty simple measure the bore spacing of each individual pair or lifters. Then the spacing between sets. There may be a good reason for this. Like on W8 R3 stuff if you run 60mm cam bearings. You have a choice either cut the lobes to keep them from interfering or offset the lifter bores. Make sure this is not a possibility. I am very new to the P7 stuff myself and finding out something new every week.
As for the tie bar that one you got man up on. Your base circle is smaller than design. So you have to cut some clearance. This is common on a lot of other engines as well.
I do a little business with Kent. He has a lot of stuff and sometimes when no one else has it. The XR2 scare the heck out of me because you can meet with Kent and get the big sale pitch and 10 minutes later talk to the guy who has one has yet to run it. I really hope this thing works out but, I fealt that if you want guinee pigs you need to pay for that service. I am not in that position right now. Although it may have been easier to achieve what I am after going that route than the one I am traveling. No new race engine is ever a simple bolt together.

thanks for ur input leon. lifters on cyl 1&3, 2&4 are off, only have 8 thou clearence between lobe & lifter. factor in 4 thou cam end play, tooooooo close. the rest of the lifters are fine. cam is fine too. as far as the link bars, my present cam is ground down to the core. the bars have 50thou clearence on the driver side. pass side has none on 2,4 & 6. #8 has 50 thou. pass side lifter bank is higher in the frt of block. either it's core shift or bad mold. don't know about the other blocks. new cam will have more base circle which will raise the bars up off the block, also narrowed lobes 30 thou for more clearence. there's alot more, but don't want to get into that right now.

hey's guy's. just wanted some opinion's. found 2 more issue's on my ritter block. found a couple lifter bore's off center to the lobe & the link bar's 2,4,6 hit the block when they are on the base circle- my cam is ground down to the core so a normal cam will raise the lifters around 100 thou. in other words, the lifter bank is higher in the front & good at the back. called kent about this & other issue's but got no answer. i think he is washing his hands of me. what would u do? i am thinking, LET THE BASHING BEGIN. i can post everything i went through with this block as a heads up or warning to anyone who may want to get one. again what would u do? thanks for ur time.
I would make sure the deck is square, then measure from the cam core to the deck and see if the cam hole was machined properley.
