Ran the car today with dist locked in, Set my timing at 36. Idle quality and throttle responce is much better, still rich but now I am ready to start playing with the air bleeds, If that dont work I will try the BoLaws metering blocks and boosters. It works against the starter a little hot, so I am going to put a switch on the ignition to get it spinning as you all suggested. Today was our last 60 plus day. tomorrow in the 30s. Need to fix my spring locators and do a bearing inspection, just hate to tear it down when I am making progress. Thanks guys so much for all your help on this project. Galen

Bob I have been getting a lot of aluminum in my oil filter due to the cast in spring locators on my 440-1 heads. I am pretty sure nothing has contaminated my bearings but I still have that little voice saying better safe than sorry. Thought I would just pull the pan and look around since I need to fix my spring pocket issues.
