Hi guys... what would be better for 1/8 ET!?

Spray a 100hp shot from the line or
spray a 180-200hp shot past 4000rpm ?!

the engine will rev 6800rpm.

use a progressive controller, leave on 100 and ramp in the rest as you go.

Yeah, assuming it hooks! (I hope.. finishing my mini-tubbing, ladder bars + 12" street tires)

By the way... it will be a forged pistons + forged rods + arp main bolts + stock crank....

Do you think a 100 shot off the line could hurt the engine !?

No, Many many people spray a lot more than 100 of the line. You will be fine.

Remember hitting the sauce off the line is going to give the motor more power and thus make the converter flash a bunch higher than it will without the juice. If you plan on using it alot, you need to get a converter that is built for it, or bad things can happen.

With a 2000 stall yes. 3500 and up, no. IMO thats a starter shot, nothing to be worried about.

Give more details of the car/weight/current motor HP range and current performance numbers, the exact tire brand, converter, trans, rear gear. Transbrake or footbrake? Lastly, how is the track surface you race on?

If things are right it'll take every bit of what you're wanting to throw at it (180-200) off the line. What system are you using? I'm sure ole Monte Smith can fix you right up if you don't have one currently. Good luck.

As you wish...

Engine setup:
- 318 SB
- 2.02/1.60 ported J heads
- KB forged pistons (~11 CR)
- Scat H-Beam connection rods
- ARP main and Head studs
- 1.6 roller rockers
- Comp Cams XE284H cam 240/246 @.050
- Edelbrock Torker 2 with injector bungs
- EFI Megasquirt with 8 injectors
- Innovate LM-1 wideband O2 sensor
- 3.73 gears + ladder bars
- mini tubbed
- 295/50/15 Toyo tires
- 3400#lbs Dart
- manual transmission with ceramic clutch

Track is not that good....

The engine will run on ethanol. Wishing to make 400~450 hp + a 200~250 shot.

I´ve got a NOS 8 fogger Sportsman nitrous kit but also has a plate.

On the parachute mount
i let go off my transbrake, there is a .10 delay to a plate jetted .070/.067
then after .65 a progressive ramps in a fogger jetted .032/.028 The progressive starts at 70% and goes to 100% in one second

I have been 5.30's in the 1/8 at 130 on a 295 drag radial

I beleive in using whatcha got. SO, if you have the sauce, use it. I always had mine on a micro switch, and it activated under full throttle. With my stick car, I left @ 7500 RPM, and it would go:

Trip the pre-stage lights, bring revs up to 5000 RPMs.
Roll into the lights, deck it, that way it is spraying before you are off the clutch, and when you side step the clutch on the spray, it is all good

Same goes for auto:
Roll into pre-stage, foot brake, bring revs up (depnding on your stall)
Trip the lights, set the trans brake, deck it, and now you are spraying the converter, and your 60' will dwindle down.

I think both of those scenarios are a good recipe for blowing the hood off lol.

w/DT Use a progressive controller. Bring it in a little at a time, until the tires break loose, then back it off.

Yeah, it's got a smallblock.

Unless you know what you are doing: which since I never had a backfire one, and after 4+ seasons, and an easy 300+ passes of doing so, I think I qualify as knowing what I am doing
