anyone use this crank in a 318-340,i have one and can't decided if the .200" gain in stroke is worth the cost of balancing to use it in a 318,i beleive .030" over would give me a 342" motor.I also have a 86 318 roller block.
Beats a 331" ford,

If you have it and want more power, especially and increase in torque, use it now

if you're using 318 replacement pistons that are usually .100" down in the hole, that could make them zero deck. Of course now you might run into p/v clearance problems.

Currently working on - 1966 Dodge A100 van 318/auto
Finally - disc brakes on the front.
In the plans - rear disc brakes, B&M 250 blower

I have 7 of those brand new. I heard Hensley has been building 318s with 4" cranks and overboring them .09" to 4" bore. I am getting ready to sonic test a 74 318 block to see if there is any truth to what Hensley has done. I hope it is true. A set of std 360 KB190 pistons are cheap, around $200 and would make a cheap screaming motor out of a 318 block cheaply.

Keep an eye on the piston skirt to counterweight clearance.

That is something i will have to watch as 318 piston aren't designed to clear the counter weights of a stroker crank, but some will anyways.
Also i can't find the 1.72" comp/height pistons i found before,it was like speed pro or fed/mog.

Can these cranks be balanced with 360 balancer and b&m 360 flex plate to save on mallory metal?

found them---http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=TRW-8K285NCP30&autoview=sku

Should balance without mallory a 318 balancer and a stock flexplate. 318 pistons are lite + the counterweights on the 3.51 cranks look beefy.

These were the pistons I was going to use once upon a time with my 3.51" crank.
