Why dont you ask the person you got the trans from? that makes more sense then asking the question here.

B&M Trick Shift ATF is blue. It's just Type F marketed by B&M as a "performance" fluid at an inflated price.

I would be willing to bet that's what it is. Just use type F.

As already mentioned if it is blue it is B&M "Trik fluid, NO GOOD tsk runaway
Change it to Type F, any brand is better than that old junk Trik Fluid including the Wal Mart brand scope

Many moons ago a tech at B&M told me TrickShift is Chevron Type F (thus the blue color) with some additional additives.

Yep, blue fluid is the B&M stuff. Nothing wrong w/ it, just expensive Type F. I use whatever Type F I can get my hands on at the store I'm in at the time.

Yup, according to the Spar brothers themselves when I worked for them in the early '70s, TrikShift is indeed just Type F. Originally it had a dye. Bob used to chuckle about that. Not sure what they're using nowadays, though.

I was told by Art Carr and one of the employees at Rossi trans and converters in Montclair, CA that the B&M fluids was junk, don't use it, ever is what they recommended back when B&M first brought it out in the mid 1970s shruggy

The Chrysler Engineering Trans Lab tested B & M’s Trik along with some other fluids including Type F back in the late 60’s, no difference between F and the Trik for static or dynamic clutch tests.

I never used 4, always used F - have been for over 40 years.

I don’t recall ever seeing a comparison made ( in the lab) between F and 4, but 4 is better all around for durability, resistance to oxidation and high temperature, etc.

I do know that 4 lives quite well in the old 46/47/48 transmissions and clutch life/durability improved dramatically over Dexron and 3.

Been using +4 in my racing tranny’s for many years. Get a smoking deal on it at work and my trans “go to” people said “run it!” smile

Type F is red hydraulic oil, there are Ford racers using plain clear hydraulic oil and have been for years. cheaper and the same thing. It's been debated to death on the Ford forums.

Have a great day
