Many moons ago a tech at B&M told me TrickShift is Chevron Type F (thus the blue color) with some additional additives.

Yep, blue fluid is the B&M stuff. Nothing wrong w/ it, just expensive Type F. I use whatever Type F I can get my hands on at the store I'm in at the time.

The Chrysler Engineering Trans Lab tested B & M’s Trik along with some other fluids including Type F back in the late 60’s, no difference between F and the Trik for static or dynamic clutch tests. having been around +4, would you use it?

Type F is red hydraulic oil, there are Ford racers using plain clear hydraulic oil and have been for years. cheaper and the same thing. It's been debated to death on the Ford forums.
Have a great day Iowan
