Does anyone know a source to get one of the in car 426 Hemi valve spring compressor like this?



Mancini says they're not made anymore.

Tried contacting Detroit Tool and they don't respond at all.

Does anyone know of where I can get one or something that's similar?

I need to do a valve spring swap in the car.

How hard is it to swap the springs with the prybar type of tool like this?

I can try and contact the guy that was making them for Mancini. He may still have a few. I'll let you know.

I have a Ray Barton but I have never used it so I can't comment but you can try him. Mazzolini would probably know how also.

Made my own,piston on TDC, 100 psi in the hole and it's a pain in the............

I made a tool that goes over the rocker shaft to do this on a small block. It works very good and easy. We had a little over 600 pound spring in there. If I needed more leverage I just use a longer tube or pipe. I made a short shaft to bolt down and the compressor slid over the shaft. Moved it from cylinder to cylinder.
Found that if the piston was on TDC that the air pressure would push the piston down, no problem, just keep the air in there until done. How much spring pressure do you have?

Wow, that's weird: the 2nd pic in the OP is of my Landy part that we modified for in-car use.
The angle & aprons are the big problem, that's why you see where we had to heat & bend the tool.

I am looking for one of these tools as well. If anyone has another, please let me know. Even if I could rent it and send it back that would work for me. Probably need it once a year.

Depending on how soon you actually need it I could loan you mine.

I'm finally going to do the cam swap in my car in the next few weeks so I need it for now.
With doing all of Kayse and mines wedding prep (it was a Renaissance Wedding at our house, last Saturday) the cam swap was put off.
I'm still taking tents/shelters down, returning folding chairs and tables.

By next week I should hopefully get started on the cam swap.
