Does anyone know the H.P. capabilities of the World big blocks, non race version?

P5153863 Bare Block (rough bore) 10.725 4.490 Wedge-std. cam w/ lifter bores Nodular, Cross Bolted Main Caps.

Going forward with my 528" motor and can buy this at a decent price. So just wondering what the limitation would be, 700hp, 800hp, or ?

Thanks

Way more than that. Should handle anything that a wedge head can throw at it which is 1200 or 1300.

By looking at my Hemi block, and as heavy made and thick as it is, I would guess well over 1000hp. This isn't the Race block BTW. I have some pics, if your interested. Although a Hemi, which is pretty much the same block as the wedge. 4.49 rough bore version. The castings look very good IMO

Mine is getting closer every day... It is HEAVY, but should handle the power.

That's great to hear. It is going to start life as a 528" because I've got the crank and rods already with only 15 passes on them. In a couple of years it just may become a 572".

I just ordered the block from a local Dodge dealer and should be here in 7-10 days. No shipping charge either.

Jegs sells it for $3365 but I'm getting it for $2619. You can find them online from around $2795.

What is the weight difference between that
block and a stock 440 block?

About 100 lbs heavier than a stock block. Don't even try lifting one by yourself or you'll bust a gut. I made that mistake when my World block first showed up. Ooof.

They can handle plenty more power than 800. Not sure anyone really knows the answer to that question yet.

As for weight mine tipped the scales at 308lbs with a 4.530 bore.
