Did I hear this right?

2016 Nissan Titan - Powered by Cummins

The 2016 Nissan Titan XD full-size pickup powered by a Cummins 5.0L V8 engine made its debut at the 2015 North American International Auto Show.

The next-generation Nissan Titan expands Cummins presence in the North American pickup market from heavy-duty trucks to now extending to serve the light-duty segment. The 5.0L V8 Turbo Diesel stands alone between the smaller and larger diesel offerings in the pickup market.

The ram diesel is a small 3.6 I thin V6, the ram cummins is 6.7 litres. Chivy and ferd have a 6.6 and 6.7

Dodge passed on the 5.0 cummins for some dumb reason as there could not be a good reason for that behaviour. Nissan is about to get a serious chunk of the full size truck market like dodge did when they got the 6 cylinder cummins than a decent looking package to put it in in 94. Nissan already has decent looking body by todays standards.

I've heard about this for over a year. A lot of diesel owners like the inline design better than V for harmonics or whatever. Will be interesting to see what the future brings for aftermarket performance. twocents

If this truck isn't overpriced, it'll sell.

The EcoDiesel is a whopping 3 liters, 180 or so cubic inches.
The 5.0 V8 is a 300hp, 550 lb-ft engine, not the 900 lb-ft of the big boys.

The compacted graphite block is a really solid foundation.

If ram would of picked up the v8 cummins, they would have the most spectacular lineup of diesel pickups ever. Hemi sales would probably drop significantly.

Oh well though. Cummins should sell these with a standalone controller, so I can put it in my 75

Two completely different trucks. If Fiat hadn't bought Chrysler (if it survived after that) then the Cummins would have been in the Ram. No matter how you build it, the Nissant is still just a Datsun... biggrin puke
