D150 that is. Is 80s the same? Maybe that would make the search easier? Some listings say it is but one of my windows has been replaced before and it doesn't fit the window frame properly so I don't know what's up with that.

Thanks apimp

Vent window assemblies changed a couple times from 72-93 but I'm not sure if that made changes to the door glass.

Also the lower sash changed a couple times as did the regulator, iirc the difference is the size of the roller.

Can you post pics of how the window doesn't fit?

I'll try to measure some doors to see if I çàn spot some difference in glass opening.

When the window is up there is a bit of a gap between the top at the back end of it while the front is in the channel. That's what makes me wonder if there was a change in door glass when they changed the roof? I don't think it's the way the window is installed because the front and back edges look like they fit inside their channels properly and the vent window fits properly and it's parts are identical on both doors. I'll try to get a picture.

My main reason for wanting new glass is more because the old stuff is scraped up and pitted. I have new door seal kits but don't want to put them in with the old glass.

Not sure what the roof has to do with the door glass.

Is the glass actually going all the way up the channel?

Starting to sound like sloppy install.

That's why I was asking if the 80s is the same or not. If when they changed the roof from round to square if they also changed the shape of the top of the door opening which would have made a difference in the shape of the top of the door and glass.

Yes the glass goes all the way up but when the front of the glass bottoms out at the top of the frame there is still a gap at the back. The sides of the glass seem to fit properly and so does the window, it just looks like the top of the window is a different shape then the frame. Maybe it is a sloppy install because that window was changed before I got the truck but don't know how to adjust it when every other part of the glass seems to fit perfectly. Unless it's just the wrong glass for the application.

Ahhhh, no the door opening didn't change shape. Not all trucks got the squared off roof. Crew cabs, extended cabs ketp the same roof.
You can swap doors between the cabs, just need the fenders so the body Ines match up.

So I think it's time to pop a door panel and have a look at adjustment for the glass, specifically if there is an up stop.

This is on just one side correct?

OK thanks for clarifying that! Knowing that the shape of the top of the glass didn't change I started messing around with it a bit and it seems like something isn't adjusted right because it moves around a bit and you can make the top fit properly while the sides still look OK too. I think the top still might not be cut the same shape as it should be but Im guessing that's probably because of being a cheap replacement part.

So now that I know all those years are the same as far as glass goes does anyone know where you can get new replacement glass for the doors? What's there now is still scraped up and most of the used glass I'm finding isn't much better.
