We're the Green textured oil filters used on 71 cars or did that end in 1970?? Also if they weren't then I assume the Red White and Blue type would be used or are they only 1972 and up? Thanks Ron

Is that a repro.? Or is that NOS? My buddy is able to get the labeling correct, color good and texture nice. He even found a way to add the M on top. Let's put it this way, he was able to in a home garage make a better reproduction of a part then so many so called reproduction company's over the past 20 years with other needed pieces. Ron

The NOS RWB filters that have the stamped "M" (usually cost around $300.00) can be redecorated with the green paunt and are VERY close to perfect. Other late model filters can be decorated and have the M added, but most I've seen have noticable shape differences to an educated eye. *Ron, I know your friend too, great and talented guy. Yes he is Scott!! I hear what is being said but to me I'd rather have a non perfect nice reproduction since I drive my cars. Even if someone is silly enough to shell out big money for NOS and have to push his car in and out of a trailer someone is going to walk up to him one day and point out that it's NOS not assembly line correct! 71redcuda, Interestingly the garaget guy is using my pictures on his ad (that Hemi is sitting in my driveway). The filters shown are NOT exact to original, pretty close but not exact. The biggest issue is the finger flutes which are too short. Same filters shown here on my website, the short one on the left is the reproduction (actually a new Wix filter with the "M" added and painted green) the center RWB one is a later replacement NOS without the "M" and the tall one pictured on the right is an NOS RWB filter with the correct flutes and stamped in "M" which was redecorated in the green: Harms Website

The garaget guy is me and its not an ad. I can remove the engine pic if you like, the others is mine. As all know its the best repro avalible so far. So Mike Ross.. get busy!
Here is another pic of a NOS one i once got from Paul Jacobs.

71redcuda, I wasn't sure if it was an ad or not but it looks like one (don't read your language). Anyway, thank you for addressing that. * Herb's Parts was given license by Chrysler to reproduce all of the filters, strangely they started with a blue & white style that almost nobody needs, and in that effort even those are nothing more than a modern WIX filter with a new paint job, wrong shape, size, and even decorating. I spoke with them at Spring Fling and asked what the plans were for the green filters, they said they were next. They are nice people but based on the first filters they put out these I don't have a lot of faith in the accuracy they'll have. .02
