I’m installing all new wiring in a 70 Challenger. The map light harness is all used but in very good condition. My AAR with this package, comes on when you open the door. You can flip the switch forwards and it comes on with doors closed. Is this correct? The Challenger I’m working on only comes on when the switch is in the rear position with the doors open. I’ve crawled under the dash and everything is plugged into the correct spot on the harness. I can’t get it to come on with the doors closed. Have I missed something simple or is my AAR just a fluke. Thanks

Ok. Never mind. I figured it out. Two bad switches and some trial and error. Seams there are two circuits inside the switch. One is constant on, tied to the door switch and the other is grounded to the dash when you flip the switch forward. I have a poor ground.

Actual, it’s was the switch itself with the bad ground. It’s pretty lame for a switch. Easy to fix though. Opened it up and cleaned, greased and bent the ears back in place and it works fine.
