I am working on getting new fender emblems for a 74 Sport 360. I am questioning if the finish on the 360 emblem is correct or not. The Dart emblem is a shinny chrome look like I would expect but the 360 emblem is more of a brushed looked, is that how they were? Also the pins on the back are different, the 360 emblem looks like it would take a typical speed nut but the Dart emblem has some plastic sleeve on the pin.

The 74 parts book shows 3810255 for the 360 emblems. I believe they were dull finish if IIRC. I googled that part number and I looked at some listings and they look dull in the pics but it is really hard to tell for sure.

Same 360 used on some 71 b-bodies....

Brushed dull finish.

Same text style and finish as 383 on 69 road runners and 440 on 69 GTX.

I remember when I was rounding up all the emblems for my Dart Sport, I went with brushed 440's.

Thanks for the info. I know these are repops so I am not sure how close the finish is to the originals. I compared them to the originals that I have, and the size and type is about exact other then a slight difference in the "6"

I am pretty sure the originals are shiny like your Dart emblem . . . here is pic of my 74 Duster 360

Yea that is what I was expecting it to look like, think I will look for another set. It just looks really out of place being a different finish.

You could always try polishing the brushed ones you have . . . just take time and elbow grease . . . also, pretty sure that the pins on back of ones you have, will take the plastic sleeve (or the metal sleeve also). . .

I can try, I just assumed that they were plastic or something underneath, I really haven't looked close at them, long time before I will be ready for them.

With the emblem being metal . . . with enough time and elbow grease, you can get the brushed look to gleam like chrome . . .
