Hey ...

No brake lights ..
Switch is ok - works as intended.
I get flashers, directionals and parking/running lights. So I know the bulbs are okay.

If I bypass the BL switch - same issue.

Also-
car has new dash harness, new ignition switch but original turn switch.
I checked pins on the turn switch connector, they look to be on good condition - no corrosions and the coupler makes a nice tight connection.

This is a new problems - they were working fine a week ago when I drove to s swapo meet/car show.

Where else can I look ??

Not sure of the BL circuit, so don't know where else to trouble-shoot.

Thanks in advance --

Bill

Got me a NEW Project
1970 GTX 440+6, 4 spd, 4.10 Dana and N96 FE5 (top/bottom) and black bucket interior.
Original transmission and Dana - Engine is a service replacement block.

Body has all stamped #s + VIN/TRIM tag and door sticker. Been hunting like all hell to find the Build Sheet.

garage find, only had 41,850 miles on ODO.

I had the same problem last summer on my 70 Challenger. Everything worked except the brake lights, though with memory one of the turn signals flashed kind of slow.
It turned out to be the turn signal switch, brakes are wired through it so one side goes off when that signal flashed.
There was a slightly melted portion of the switch, preventing good contact.
I bought one of the readily available 71 - 74 switched, and drilled out the rivets for the switch portion, and put the flasher guts from my 70 switch inside. Used tiny nut and bolt from a hardware store to put it all back together.
All works fine now.

Many thanks!!

Will check the wiring running through the coupler on the turn switch harness.

thanks for the insight on the 70 vs. 71-74 switch type differences.
I like the fix you figured out :-)
