Hello All,
I'm having a warping issue with my decklid on the AAR. I thought I could live with it but it turns out that it's not that easy.

When trunk lid is open no warping but as soon as it's shut or latched, there is slight warping in the same two spots. I'm using metro soft seal rubber and lid shuts relatively easy. I can remove the striker, push down on lid to where it should be and there is no warping. Only when the striker is mounted and lid is shut do I see this. I've done everything I know to do aside from trying to find another hopefully thinner seal.

Thanks for the help.............

It may be the way way the inner, and outer section were put together, maybe it wasn't done right. The inner structure on my lid had something square fall on it at the factory, and they still used it.

You say that when it's open it's fine, this tells me that the sealer between the inner section and outer skin is dried and loose.I would use 3M 08308 sealer. twocents

I'll check that to see if any has come loose. May run into a problem getting it where it needs to go.

Springs aren't that tight. Deck lid will rest on latch without raising up.

If you decide to reglue the top and bottom panels be very careful what you use...3m recommended 34274 to do that as it stays soft and will let the panels move in the heat and sun, otherwise you will get dimples everywhere you put a spot of adhesive. Seam sealer may work also just do your homework on this one. Don't use a panel bonding product, bondo, or hard seam sealer.

Thanks for the recommendation. Decklid is freshly painted so at this point I'm not sure how much of this I can do. I could try and push some in for the areas that are easily accessible.

I'm thinking my next move is to replace the seal with a thinner one.

I'll post results.

We have a slightly smaller profile and a very soft seal. Made this for my own Challenger after trying the other brands that are WAY too big ad stiff. I’m leaving for SEMA in the morning but can still get one out today.
