Anyone buy a new set of rear cables and find that they wont hook up to the original Tee bracket???

I just got a set for my 70 cuda and the balls on the end of the cables (rear cables that go to the brakes) are TOO BIG to go thru the holes in that balancing bracket on the front cable.

I compared my originals to some original B body cables anbd the balls are the same size. but the ones on the replacement cables from Inline tube are MUCH bigger and they dont fit thru the holes in that balancing bracket.

I cant be the only one that has this problem>>> is this the only way they come nowadays (necessitating a change to the bracket- i.e. DRILL THE HOLES LARGER???)

just kind of odd that the balls are larger on the new cables and they are supposed to be the same as the originals.

Enlarging the hole is fine if you don't mind going that route but make sure you call In-line tube and let them know their parts are not a bolt-on deal so they can remedy the problem....

ya, i called them this morning and told them.

I'll take some measurments and pictures tonight and post them. They were surprised and couldnt explain it.

I cant explain why no one else has noticed this. I have the same sized ends as on my friends b body so I cant see them as being wrong. Ive owned this car since 85 and dont remember replacing them either.

one other odd note, the cables I got had different outside casings than the one on there. one was wound with the spiral wire and the other wasnt BUT they were opposite from the ones I got from inline.

if I recall correctly, the old short drivers side that i was replacing had the spiral wire and the orig long passenger side didnt. On the new inline, the short drivers side didnt have the spiral wire while the longer passenger side did have it....
