I have the build sheet and original window sticker. No stripe code on the fender tag but it's a Windsor built car, and the build sheet has 2 blank squares under the "Stripe" box. No info on stripe or color on Window Sticker. I figured if it were a stripe delete car, the build sheet would have code 88. And if it came with a stripe, what color would it be? It currently has a white stripe but I have seen black stripes on black cars too.

the roof stripe was an OPTION, so if it wasn't ordered it wouldn't generate a "delete" code

your RR w/A87 should have rear bumper/valence stripes & V21 hood indentation stripes

Interesting. So I guess it didn't come with a stripe. Dan, would my car have the engine call-out on the fender? If so, what colors were available? Also, I've seen white, black and even a yellow roof stripes on 71 RRs over the years. Was there any other color available?

It should have the two piece metal Road Runner on the 1/4 panels. Engine call outs on the fender above the running lights were for Air Grabber cars, if that was what you were talking about.

Interesting that it is a Windsor built car, yet it doesn't have the "F81" typo on the tag that so many other Windsor built cars seem to have.

Judging by the Monroney Label, no mention of strobe (roof) stripe.
Non-AG cars would have the side-facing scoop ornaments, with the engine callout in them.

Very low optioned car. Yes, available strobe stripe colors were only black, white, and gold. If the car had the strobe it would have been coded on the fender tag. Non air grabber cars did not have engine callouts on the fenders.

The previous owner added the air grabber, spoilers, and apparently a stripe. The car did come with the optional A87 decor package and power steering and power disc brakes which I think is mandatory with the Track Pak option. I would have personally not put om the stripe though.

Looks like the wheel opening moldings that were standard as part of the A87 package were removed at some point.

Yeah, and the deluxe steering wheel was replaced with a tuff wheel. Holes in the wheel lips are still there though. Not sure if they were intentionally left off after the resto or if the previous owner never got around to putting them back on. Either way, I don't have them.

Chrysler specified roof color on the fender tag so technically they could be considered triple colored.

As a matter of fact, there was Tuxedo black 71' with the white strobes running around at the street races on Fountain back in the early 80's that I remember.
That car or this one? was running low to mid 12's back then.

If your car was stripe delete there would have been holes drilled in the quarters for the Road Runner emblems. So look to see if the holes have been filled in, assuming quarters were not replaced.

There was one in my old neighborhood of Middle Village Lee, I’d guess ‘80-‘82? Just remember how mean looking it was, 440-6 and white strobes I think, have no idea what ever became of it or the owner who was maybe 2 or 3 years older than me, I know his name, but not important at this juncture to throw it out yet.

We may be remembering the same car. 6ix barrel and fast it was. He might have been making the trek down to Fountain to clean house and then disappear into the dark of another county/neighborhood.
It had rally wheels and air grabber hood if I remember correctly.
Pardon my lapse into the memory banks within this thread. Don't mean to hijack, but I absolutely think these year 71'-73' B-bodies are beautiful and bold at such a challenging moment in design and engineering.

I don't know, but I can ask the previous owner. The car is from Hudson County which is next to NYC.
