I have been very bad at not checking myself before I dive into a project, so I beseech you all to help me make sure I've got all my bolts and bits for this one.

Current setup: 67 Coronet with manual drum spindles, using Dr. Diff's adapters for GM Metric calipers on a drum spindle. Uses 11.75 Cordoba discs with a bearing spacer on the '67 spindle.

New caliper adapters: Dr. Diff's adapters for Metric calipers on FMJ spindles
New spindles: disc spindles off of a '78 Volare
UCAs: QA1 tubular (big ball joint)

I'm a tad confused/unsure because most comparos I find are talking about using these spindles on A-bodies.

1. Do I use my regular 67 B-body lower ball joints with this spindle? This article appears to confirm this: http://www.bigblockdart.com/techpages/spindles.shtml
2. I assume I lose Dr Diff's bearing spacers I used for the Cordoba bearing on the '67 B-spindle?
3. Do I need any mounting bolts that aren't coming from the Volare spindles or my car?

Sorry if this is super duper obvious, but my confidence has bitten me in the butt a couple times this month smile

1. you should be able to use your existing lower ball joints, if you want to check, look up the LBJ part numbers for the Coronet and the Volare on rockauto.

2. again, look up the part numbers or look what the description says on D.r Diffs website for the spacers. I think you do just lose the spacers but I'm not positive.

3. I'm not sure on that one as I haven't looked at the kits descriptions. Dr. Diff I think is pretty good about sending all hardware with his kits.

something else you might want to look at is your brake hoses. most hose routing is cleaner if the caliper is at the front, I swapped some FMJ spindles side to side on my Coronet so I could put the caliper to the front...I'm using slider calipers though.

If I were coming fresh off of drums I would, but I already have great performance from the 11.75/overbore GM Metric setup I have now. I'm doing this solely to get rid of the old bias ply geometry. This thing will really scoot when it stops gaining positive camber in turns.

Are you wanting to bolt he early drum spindle conversion parts onto the FMJ spindle?

No, I grabbed Dr. Diff's last kit for Metric on a disc spindle last year. Incidentally I'll have some DD Metric-on-drum adapters for sale soon wrench

Yes, I'm switching to QA1's uppers and lowers. I considered the super-adjusty ones made out of a bunch of rod ends and couplers but that's overkill for me.
