The one with the upgrade to factory electronic ignition has the wires for a dual field alt. i suspect that is the three wire alt you are asking about?
Its an excellent harness. Ive had several.

Its an excellent harness. Ive had several. need to jump on this post I have same issue and have the harness with dual field alt what ballast resistor do I need I have the two prone type the harness has the four prone hook up ! Thanks Tom C.

Depending on the coil you have, you may be able to just jump it and skip having a ballast, which i have done. Guys get all hopping mad about this topic so...
