1) Drill and tap a new hole in the housing...
2) Add a section of tubing in radiator hose with a bung welded in it...
3) Install a weld bung in your radiator tank...
I did both 2 and 3 to my car...

Do I need to have some sort of wire coming off the stainless sleeve and grounding to the radiator?
The anode needs to be grounded to whatever it is you are trying to protect. An anode in the radiator will not protect the heads

I have several sacrificial zincs in a marine engine. They are screwed into the system they are protecting. No wires. But close does count. Any zinc helps protect against electrolytic erosion as does using proper antifreeze. Zinc is less noble than aluminum. It will erode first.

So they are grounded

Since the cooling fluid (water or coolant) is, I believe, in constant presence in the radiator & engine, why would it matter where the anode is, as long as it's submerged in the fluid? Is there a distance from the heads to the anode beyond which the anode becomes ineffective? In my case (race 340) the radiator, water pump, intake & heads are aluminum; the only iron in the system is the block itself, which is half-filled with HardBlok. I'm thinking that when the car's sitting, I can just hang the anode down into the radiator, submerged in the water. I use WaterWetter and a small amount of Prestone in the system.
