my father anf i recently acquired a 426 hemi that possibly is a sox and martin engine, the block has been lightened and is free of all markings, it has never been stamped anywhere and has not been poured , it is a very nice job, much too nice for the average engine builder to accomplish...i have photos but not sure how to post them.

I can't help you with identifying the engine, but I've had great luck shrinking and posting pictures using www.shrinkpictures.com

I beleive if it was a Sox and Martin motor it would be stamped by them. I don't see anythihg there that an good builder couldn't do.

the entire inside of the block is polished smooth, most average builders dont go to this extreme if you could see inside it you would know what i am talking about, and yes it runs. i am sure the heads have been changed but there are no stamp marks ont the exterior, we had a ramchargers hemi head and it was stamped on the head surface that faces directly ti the block so without removing it we was unable to tell, but we hate to tear a fresh engine apart, i was just wanting to know if anyone had seen a block prepped like that on the outside, the carb is also shimmed at an angle,, there are a lot of small details that i have not seen on any other engines. and we will probably sell it once we figure out what or who the builder was.

i wasnt saying they are worth anything because they are not, but it is cool for us to have them...the new parts are so much better, we have and old set of factory race hemi pistons that arent worth much either, i was trying to learn some , and you seem to have the experience that is why i came to this site because i am only 30, i know what my car is and a few things but i have no knowldge of hemi's.

My block was smoothed and glyptol'd just like what you have posted(not quite to that extenet). Though it was done at a shop here in toledo many years ago. That was the norm back then

Am I the only one on Moparts that doesn't have a Facebook page? I would like to see the motor, but I am not going to join Facebook.

There is one link above that opens without facebook, check it out, it's well worth a look.
