i purchased a headliner and vinyl top for my project, they are both new and in boxes, i have had them for about 1mth, looks as though will be another couple of mths before i can install, will if be okay to leave in the boxes till i get ready to install, or do i need to do something different?

Leave them in the box. take them out a day before you use them and lay them out in the sun for the day if possible.

box is fine.. they've more then likely been in the box for more then a couple months already.. I had the headliner installed but did the top myself.. the sun works but IMHO a very low temp iron works better to smooth out the wrinkles on the top. A heat gun will make quick work of the headliner once it's in... there is a slight give in the top as you pull it into place but not that much with contact cement, make sure the top is as smooth as possible before you start
