just wondering if a dual quad would be at all benaficial on a mildly built 318? I kinda doubt it, but my neighbor has an intake for sale and I thought it would look pretty sweet in my scamp thanks!

Looking sweet is what it is all about & you might consider cutting the hood for 2 stub stacks. If the carbs/linkage etc fits into your budget go ahead & if not get it & flip it. I never thought a tunnel ram was streetable until the thread from a day ago & now I want one.

i must have missed that thread. I don't really want to cut holes in my hood too bad though

most likely. if it's a low-rise offy, it probably won't perform as well as a good dual plane, and realistically, anything bigger than a pair of 390cfm holleys are going to be too big. heck, even a pair of those carbs are probably too much for a mild 318.

Get some small AFBs. If it is an Offy Holleys won't fit. I think there is some 400 or 450 AFB's out there.

Heck there was a 2X4 factory intake out there for the 318 Poly.

Anyway you look at it, $$$! The cool factor is priceless!

The ford 302 edelbrock 2x4 runs two 500cfm carbs. Dual 4s on a really mild smog compression engine is probably not ideal- especially that the only low rise dual quad for the 318 is a weird old single plane by offenhauser. The edelbrocks are nice cuz they are a true dual plane. Im gonna run mine on a 360 with KB 107 pistons. The intake pictured is for the 273 and 318 but Im gonna run it anyway. If you have a 318 with more cam and compression than stock the intake pictured should work very well-afterall it was ORIGINALLY designed for a 273.
