I've got two sets of shifter rods. They're both supposed to be for the 2 b body 18 spline 833's I've got. The picture is a little deceiving since the rods on the transmission are higher then the rods in the floor but.......The top and middle rods are both straight and are the same lengths in both sets. The bottom rod is straight in one set and curved/bent in the other set. But the distance from mounting point to mounting point is the same. What is the deal?

Going by my A body experience, FWIW, the ones on the trans look like aftermarket shifter rods whereas the ones on the floor look to be factory rods.

They say there are no such thing as a stupid question.
They say there is always the exception that proves the rule.
Don't be the exception.

The bottom curved shift rod is for reverse. The curve is for clearance of the speedo cable.
