there are a few choices depending on your budget and plans. lo-jack for recovery hidden kill switches so it cannot be started add a stick shift to it so they cannot drive it. Definitely the stickshift.

Keep a pitbull in the cabin at all times.... Seriously though, install a hidden kill switch, it'll be fine.

Lojack or GPS would be good but high dollar I would imagine (never priced one). I think a skilled high end auto thief would be able to bypass/defeat alot of simple alarms. My thought would be to add a common 1/4 turn ball plumbing shutoff valve in the fuel line, with the valve/handle under the seat but hidden somewhat & shut it off then assuming they bypass any alarm then several blocks away it will die in the middle of the street & no amount of cranking will get it going & they will likely panic & have to vacate. it might take several feet of added line to let them get out on a more public road & possibly a vent so all the gas in the line can be pulled forward by the fuel pump (I ain't sure on that as this is just a planned in my head addition), first I have to build something worth stealing! but JC whitless in Chicago used to offer a kit with a button you add on the steering wheel so if you were carjacked you could unobtrusively press the button as you exited the vehicle at gunpoint & it would electrically trip this shutoff valve to make it stall a few minutes later.

We had a few cars at the shop that had hidden kill switches.Even jumping the wires they would not start. Most had a pressure switch that was totally unseen that you had to touch to start.Had a few that had a chip type also.Oh by the way one was a 70 300 vert.I worked on it all the time.Rocky

Use common sense in parking it. Hidden switches and fuel cut offs wont deter a skilled thief. A big dog might. That said... Don't spoil your trip by worrying about something very likely to NOT happen. Insurance is a MUST HAVE anyway. Pay for parking in secure lots when you need to leave it out of sight for a long time. Enjoy your self. Oh and Welcome to America.

I pull the rotor so they won’t just pop in a coil wire. I’ve been known to disable a tow rig and park the trailer against a poll to detur theft at a hotel.
I want my fair share
