Maybe stupid question but am firing a fresh 440 in the morning and don't have any trans linkage to carb I'm not a transmission guy but I remember in high school baling wiring the 904 lever for more pressure (stupid kid) but do I need that spring loaded arm to kickdown to have any kind of pressure to just break in a engine or just full of fluid OK???Thanks

As long as you don't drive it the kick down linkage is not in play. Even moving it in the drive or garage is fine w/o the linkage hooked up. Just don't put much torque in to it if you do decide to move it.
