Has anyone written an article or put together a book on this type of swap. I have read some early tech on the subject mostly on installing in an A body but has anyone really put something together that lists parts to source and how to use a salvage yard motor as a base. I have also seen some articles of them starting with a crate engine of some type then adding everything else in and it looks like its not very cost effective. But starting with a used motor should take a big chunk of that cost down.

So anything out there?

Buy my green D100 that's for sale and I will get back to you... That's my next engine hopefully. My buddy and I have found a couple and got a price from a yard, and are brewing a plan...Only one thing missing, money!

The stroker kits look pretty good along with the cost of an engine out of a yard, and some go fast parts.

My goal will be around, or as close to 600hp as I can get on pump 93 octane, and the most cost effective stroker kit I can get into a 5.7 block which looks like 410-426 cubes right now. Our low end ball park is under $5k roughly looking at this for most of the parts and most of the work.

What's funny is nobody has found what the max stroke will fit in one of these. If someone knows please post it.

Thanks it looks pretty good. I only wonder if things and parts have improved since it was written on 2007.
Just a thought?
