The optional volt meter in my 79 D-150 truck doesn't work. I have verified that it is hooked up (power feed coming from ammeter and other wire going to ground) as it should be.

I'm thinking of taking it out and apart to see if I can repair it, just curious as to what's "inside" and if there is something that is a "typical" failure and if it is potentially something to be done at home or send to an expert.

Thanks Moparts!

Darren

open it up & see if you see anything visually defective & check continuities w your VOM. Might be a simple piece thats bad and therefore an easy fix
