are you sure the throttle pressure linkage is adjusted correctly?

Well the first was stock and the second was a t.c.i...if you have one properly built they will last,i run one in my 3180 lb '70 duster with either my 520 h.p. 416 stroker or my 400 h.p. 360,and it has held up for 3 seasons of abuse at the track with really no issues...
