Just got done installing automatic (A500)transmission back in 95 Dakota, last night I just stuck the shifter linkage back on with the trans in Park and shifter in Park...

the linkage is that spring loaded shaft with a jam nut...


after driving today..it appears to be off somewhat ...nuetral and reverse seem to be off..

tomorrow..going to put trans in nuetral and shifter in nuetral also..and start adjusting.

my question is where the adjustment is made on the shaft with the spring...will there always be spring pressure on the jam nut????
