I need an application that uses a manual disk brake master cylinder that will replace the manual drum cylinder on my Duster.

I used to know the application but forgot.

On the ones I have done I used the unit 10-1515 from NAPA. It's a rebuilt, I don't know the number of the NEW unit. I just had them look up for a 71 Cuda with manual disc brakes and this is the number.

Aspens and Volares have a manual disc master cylinder. I am using an aluminum Cardone rebuilt on my Dart Sport, but forgot the # at the moment. I used the aluminum adapter available from a couple of moparts sources and one of the larger resevoirs.

I want one that bolts into place right where the manual drum master bolts to. I don't want to use an adapter.

I used a Wagner F88787, I think for a '74 Dart. No adaptor needed.

I used a Raybestos # MC36406 It is for front disc brakes and has the 15/16" dia. bore. Direct bolt on.

I'm trying a MC for a '79 D100 pickup with manual disc brakes. It has the largest bore (1 1/8") and with a larger bore comes a firmer pedal. Haven't had a chance to try it yet so I don't know if I'll like it.

And more pedal effort

Thats for a power disk brake application. I didn't think you can bolt a power disk master up to a manual disk application???

I have a leaky 73 manual disk in my car now with I guess the larger 1-1/32 bore and I really got to get onto the pedal to stop. I think the 15/16th bore would help.

So manual disk = 1 1/32 bore and power disk = 15/16????

Why would they put the 15/16 bore in a power brake application but the 1-1/32 bore in a manual application??

I think so...when I was talking to Doc Diff about M/C's he said to use the 15/16" A-body one for Power Discs & it did have the groove for the pushrod retainer.

If nothing else PM him & double-check me.

Butch

FOR SURE. that's what I used. I think 78 or 79 was the changeover year from 4 bolt to 2 bolt MC's.

Yes, the master from a '73-'75 A-body POWER disc brake car has a 15/16" bore and a groove for the manual brake push rod retainer. Of course the retainer is not included. You must buy it from someone like me or Greg Z.

What are you running for front calipers and rear wheel cylinders? Stock parts should work fine with a 1 1/32" bore master. Maybe you actually have a 1 1/8" bore unit.

I'm running the scarebird setup up front and 9" drums in the back.

I don't remember exactly what master I got. It was a manual disk master from a 73-74-75 Dart.

Pedal effort is horrible. The car wants to pull thru the brakes at idle unless I push hard and use 2 feet when I am trying to stop good.

Have you checked to see what brake pedal ratio you have?

http://www.hotrodheaven.com/tech/brakes/brakes6_index.htm

A = height of pedal
B = center to center measurement of the lower arm
C = pedal ratio
A divided by B equals C
Or example 9" divided by 1.5" equal 6 to 1 ratio.

No, but do you think there really is much of a difference between stock parts??
