Was this A -Body spoiler a factory part, aftermarket part or a Direct Connection part? When was it available and what years?

That was sold through Direct><Connection. Not sure when they first offered it, but it is in the 1987 through the 1998 catalogs. Part #P4120358. I believe it may have been available in the 70's from MAS, JC Whitney, and/or others.

Brad and DG , thanks.
OZ, the winning answer to the poll was sent in by one of our readers from NY. Here's his suggestion and what I'll be doing:

I'd keep it BLACK though - to balance with the black side decals and black hood/scoop.

Otherwise there's nothing but body color on the back, with black accents everywhere else.

I'm wondering why DC would have come up w/ this piece 13 years after the last A-Body was built?

I pretty sure it's in the mid to late 70's DC Catalogs too. I'd have to check my 1976 and 1981 DC catalogs.

IIRC, the DC Kit Car race cars had a similar rear spoiler or the same one.

Steve do you mean the F body kit car?

The F rear spoiler/dam wont fit on an A.

I rember seeing them in the'77 catalogue. They sold a spoiler for the front of the Duster. I had to notch it in the center to fit my 70 Bee.

In my opinion that thing is as ugly as homemade soap. It looks cobbled with all those attachment points. I gaurantee I know about cobble dealing with my old truck.

It MIGHT look better if all the button holes were smoothed over and held in place with screws in from the underside. Still, It SCREAMS mid 1970s..... whether thats good or bad, I'll leave that up to you.

Love it or hate it, you gotta admit it's unusual. All you ever see on A-bodies are the Go-Wing. This is a step away from the crowd. And you're right about the 70's look. I bit the bullet and installed it. I'll be painting it Hot Rod Black to match the front hood and scoop. Pics to follow. BTW, the fit on these is horrible.
