bought a rem (that's the manufacturer) trunk mat for my 68 coronet. made in the usa. terrible piece!

i have a rip in my original mat but otherwise it's nice. i removed it and put in the repro and it was such a piece of crap i reinstalled the og one.

what are you guys using for your high level restorations?

thanks, rob.

There hasn't been a good repro trunk mat available since the late 80's. I think the supplier at the time must have had a stock of original material.
Dave at ECS was talking about trying to develop accurate repro trunk mats, but I haven't heard anything about that for a while now.
The concours resto guys pay $1000+ for an NOS one if they can find one, otherwise you have to use a crusty original, use one of the joke repros available now, or do without.
You'd think finding a vinyl material close to the original stuff, printing a pattern on it, and cutting it to size to make a nice product would be a pretty easy thing to do, but despite everyone asking for good trunk mats, no one seems to want to step up to the plate and make them. I'll order 3 Challenger mats the day someone does!
